Sleep Apnea Can Cause Mental Illness http://guardianlv.com/2013/08/sleep-apnea-can-cause-mental-illness/
Everyone has a bad day, and man did I have a bad day. Saturday my wife was taking a nap when Titus our lab mix starts to love on her. As he was getting his belly rubbed, he smacks her in the eye. He ends up scratching her eye, today (Sunday) it looks bad, so we head to the emergency room. We decided after that while we waited for her prescription to be filled that we would get some groceries. It was an okay thus far. Then it was time for us to leave after the groceries and picking up her meds.
We then start to drive home. I thought I had enough room, so, I passed a guy. He pulls up next to me as he swerves into my lane and yells and flips my wife and me off. Therefore, in her frustration, she flips him off. He throws something out of the window and then again, swerves so I freak, and before I know it, I’m trying to slow down, and we hit bumpers. Well, I try to pull over so that I could stop, and he won’t let me, so I slow and get behind him. Finally, we stop he gets out and yells. My wife gets out as I look for the hazards since this truck was given to me, and I was freaking out I forgot where they were. He still yells then gets in my wife’s face. She at this time can’t see in one eye because of Titus. She then shoves him because she felt threatened. The guy just kept on walking forward, without pushing her back, pushed her back.
I get out. He just yells and cusses, and I apologize yet he was the driver who was being an aggressive if I did cut him off, I didn’t do it on purpose, but if there was room, he sped up enough for that room to become nonexistent. He should have just said idiot and not over react. I know I wouldn’t have, or maybe I would have. Again, I’ve been without a couple of my medications, so I don’t know what kind of mood I was in, or would have been in. I know I wasn’t pissed I was more scared then anything.
The guy says I’m taking your license plate, and I’m calling the cops. I apologize again, and then he says, “Just go home.” Then he leaves, there has been a few men watching this confrontation, so they are on the phone with the police. Instead of leaving the scene, we stayed until the police came. We stated our case, and the cop said nothing could be done. Well, after all this my truck ends up with a bent bumper the other guy had nothing wrong with his truck, before he sped off.
It was a bad day. I came home my wife talked on the phone while I was in the other room crying like a babe. My faith is weak, my mind too. I’m glad we are alive, but I hate driving. We all lose our heads when we get behind the wheel. It’s a fact!
You might be wondering what I’ve been doing for those who read my blog. Well, I’ve been writing for an online newspaper. It’s called The Guardian Express. It has only paid me $50 because it’s based on views and well, for some reason, my writing isn’t being views like I would like, and hope for. I’m working on turning my comic book into a movie script and working on other ideas. So, yeah, many things on my mind and plate, family being one of them. It’s crazy this life. No more school since well, I ran out of financial aid, and it sucks, but I just have to go on with life. Well, check out my writing at guardianlv.com
INT. GAS STATION – NIGHT
Zane walks in. He has a card in his hand that has some
numbers on it.
Zane waits in line, there are four people two men and one
woman and one child.
The one man by himself he isn’t tall and has brown hair and
eyes; he wears a T-shirt on with a skull and cross on it. He
wears shorts that go just bellow the knee.
The woman (CALISTA) and other other man (NICK), this couple
they have a very little and very young boy (DANL) with them.
She wears short shorts; she is fit; she has a nice flat
stomach being shown off with a shirt that is tied up. She
has blue eyes and sandy blond hair. The man with her also
wears shorts and T-shirt of different colors. He is very
tall and has brown hair with highlights and blue eyes; he
also is very fit. The little boy was topless and had shorts
on that are puffy because of his diaper.
The first man pays for his items. Then Calista, Nick, and
Danl get up to the counter. Danl is about four, he looks up
at Zane; as Danl holds Calista’s hand. Zane waves at Danl,
and smiles. Danl gets closer to Calista. Calista turns and
smiles at Zane.
Calista, Nick, and Danl pay for there things then walk out.
Zane walks up to the front.
CASHIER
(looking down)
How can I help you?
(looks up)
Oh, you again. You know if you keep
playing one day you just might win.
ZANE
Haha! Thanks I hope one day I do
win.
CASHIER
So what are you needing?
ZANE
I need a quick pick then one using
these.
Zane hands them the card. The numbers are 5, 15, 25, 3, 43,
and 23. The cashier goes over to the lottery computer
system. Zane crosses his fingers. The cashier then prints
out the ticket then returns to the front of the counter.
CASHIER
Aren’t these the same numbers you
play every other day?
ZANE
Yep!
(puts a five on the counter)
I hope tonight’s the night.
The Cashier takes the money and makes change.
CASHIER
(hands him a dollar)
I’ll cross my fingers for you!
ZANE
Thanks!
Zane walks out, he then sees the couple and waves.
ZANE
I wish I had a wife and kid like
them one day.
Zane gets in his truck and drives off.
CUT TO:
It was recently that I felt strongly that I found my calling. It’s screen writing!! You may ask yourself that you’re a jobless 32-year-old, and you now found your calling. I say yes! It was recently that I felt that God showed me this. I was entering my next-to-last class for school, that I was told that my writing (novel) was needing work. However, I was told that I have great promise in screen writing. I was ecstatic when I received this information. I wanted to get a movie sold ASAP. This can only be done with the help and guidance of God. I want to let you know that I have faith. You may ask me why?! Well, my wife and I were able to refinance our home, and we don’t have to pay for a couple of months, and they gave us money. After feeling that we would need it soon and God gave it to us. We got money from taxes, and things look like we will be just fine for a few more months until I get more writing out and sell a script or two. Now back to writing.
It’s bin many weeks since I’ve actually posted a blog entry why well. There are very few who read my entries (Thanks Mom!). So, I decided to post one today telling of my ups and downs of the past I don’t know month or so. Well, if you haven’t read my other posts, I do have Faith in God, and that he has blessed me more than I can even imagine, but I know he has more for me. Well, I’ve decided to share that he has helped my wife, and I refinance our home so that’s more money into the pocket, but even with that as a blessing and not having to pay for two months of mortgage I still don’t have a job. Well yes, it’s because I’m not looking as hard as others would hope. But I don’t want a regular job. I want a writing job writing blogs for others screenplays for movies even if there not my own original ideas, as long as I can write. Therefore, I say this send a writing job my way if you like if not I just hope you read this and post it for others to read.
I should be working on my movie scripts, so I’m going to keep this short. Have a great day/night!
When you believe you will achieve. When you hope, you do not doubt. When you have faith, you will have it all.
Waiting Room
INT. HOSPITAL – NIGHT
Pacing back and forth we see MATHEW in 20s, brown hair,
brown eyes, about 5’8″ and he is sweating. A doctor in a
white coat comes up to Mathew and gives him a pill.
MATHEW (V.O.)
I didn’t think I would end up here,
and I didn’t think my life would go
this way. Just like many have said,
yes I feel it’s a cliché. I thought
different doors would open for me.
I even hoped for an open window, I
could at least look into or out
of. I thought…
This young man sits down in a chair that’s against a wall.
He grabs a Kleenex from a box that sits next to him on a
small table with magazines on it. He wipes his forehead.
MATHEW (V.O.)
…I thought.
He puts his head down.
MATHEW (V.O.)
I never would have seen this
coming. I didn’t see any of my
friends, those few I had come to
visit. I never thought I would be
the only one here I had always
wanted a younger or even older
brother or sister, but no that
wasn’t in the cards for this
family.
He slowly puts his head up. Flashes of guns are seen.
MATHEW (V.O.)
My mind raced as if it were in a
100-yard dash.
He puts his head against the wall. Then images of demons are
seen. Then those demons turn into witches that have tops on,
but they are bottomless and others creatures surround the
witches.
MATHEW (V.O.)
I closed my eyes only to see
visions of creatures taken hold of
me.
Mathew is seen being grabbed at by these creatures. He
breaks free and starts to fly. The creatures grab at his
pant legs. Then he flies through different scenes, as if he
was going through pages of a book.
MATHEW (V.O.)
The thing that I noticed mostly was
that I was flying through different
scenes, as if I were going through
pages of a book or several
different movies spliced together.
These witches that I saw, for some
reason, they were showing their
pelvic bone, and I saw them all
with pubic hair. They did have tops
on, but this. What the hell what
weird nightmare is this?
He then sees a girl. She is beautiful and in need. Mathew
runs for her as she is surrounded by different creatures.
MATHEW (V.O.)
I see me trying to help a girl…
Then the girl turns into one of the bottomless witches.
MATHEW (V.O.) (CONT’D)
…only to find out she was one of
the witches…
After this her face starts to melt away.
MATHEW (V.O.) (CONT’D)
…and then her skin begins to peel
off her face; melting like a
candle.
Mathew wakes up suddenly, shakes his head, and rubs his
eyes. He readjusts himself in the chair.
MATHEW (V.O.)
What is going on with my mind? I
don’t know what’s going on.
The intercom goes off. A doctor is being called to a room.
Mathew he starts to slouch in his chair.
MATHEW (V.O.)
I could only sit low in my chair as
I had these visions of creatures
and witches. Why witches? Why
bottomless? Why did they have a
full patch of pubic hair?
Mathew starts to dream the same dream.
MATHEW (V.O.)
These questions I contemplated as I
still watched this dream, and I
tried to figure out what it was
telling me. Nevertheless, it was
gone after a few minutes, but was
it a few minutes or was it a few
hours?
Again the intercom goes off calling a doctor and nurse.
INT. HOSPITAL – DAY
Mathew gets up and starts to pace again.
MATHEW (V.O.)
After hearing the intercom again. I
decided to walk around the room to
see if this would help my mind slow
down. My head pounded like someone
was taking a hammer to it. I didn’t
have any Adderall with me. I’ve
taken it for fifteen years, and it
still helps my mind to slow down. I
didn’t start taking it until I was
a teenager because no one really
noticed or really cared I had
issues with my concentration. At
least tonight a white coat noticed,
and gave me something for the pain,
but I guess it wore off.
More people start to fill the waiting room. They come up to
Mathew and pat his back, hug him, and you can see there
mouth move to say, “I’m sorry to hear what happened.”
MATHEW (V.O.)
More people started to fill up the
room, and I became more agitated. I
felt trapped, and I was one who
just couldn’t handle it. I was
hoping that one of the white coats
would come in and tell me some good
news, but like my mom used to say,
“hope for the best, but expect the
worst.” My parents have always been
there for me, and I never would
have thought I would never see them
again, but this was the outcome
that came my way.
EXT. BANK – DAY
Slow motion. Mathew and his parents drive into a parking
lot. They get out of there car.
MATHEW (V.O.)
School never taught us how to cope
with certain things, nor did they
do a very good job at seeing a
problem and take the time to talk
to you. They just seemed to have a
mindset to teach, but never to take
the time to love the child and his
differences. They also never took
the time to find out why they
changed their daily routine, and
acted the way they did.
They walk to the banks doors. Mathew grabs the door handle.
MATHEW (V.O.)
I always found it hard to talk to
anyone and, well, all I could focus
on is fixing things. I hated it
when I couldn’t figure something
out, but I never wanted help.
Mathew opens the door.
MATHEW (V.O.)
After time, and then more time, it
would come to me, and I would be
able to fix the problem.
His parents walk through the door.
MATHEW (V.O.)
It was either putting a computer
together or putting a car together
or taking it apart, depending on
what needed to be fixed.
Mathew walks in behind his parents.
MATHEW (V.O.)
Even so, I never seemed to be able
to fix my own life though, and
this, I hated.
INT. BANK – DAY
There are many people in the bank doing banking things.
MATHEW (V.O.)
I hated that life would go one way,
normally good for those around me,
and then, when things finally went
my way, I would hit a steel door.
Mathew and his parents go to a big table like structure with
deposit slips and pens.
MATHEW (V.O.)
I laughed at it because I could
take any sheet metal and form it
into whatever I wanted to with
these tools that school provided.
They fill out some slips. Then walk to a line.
MATHEW (V.O.)
This is how it would end; no kind
words could be said. Nothing would
change the outcome of this hell I
called my life.
INT. HOSPITAL – DAY
People are in the waiting room talking to each other.
MATHEW (V.O.)
I heard people say, “at least there
still alive.”
Mathew moves his mouth to one of the people in the room.
MATHEW
I wish I was the one who went
through hell, and either died or
life finally brought a great end.
Mathew walks up to a nurses station.
MATHEW (V.O.)
I couldn’t take it anymore, and I
just wanted someone to tell me what
the hell was going on.
Mathew starts to talk to the nurse at the station.
MATHEW
Were they still alive or did they
die? Just tell me. I wanted the
voice overhead to come on and tell
me some good news.
The nurse says something, but can’t be heard.
MATHEW (V.O.)
All I could hear was mumble. And as
far as the intercom, all I could
hear was static.
Mathew then asks the nurse.
MATHEW
Can you get a white coat to come in
and tell me anything.
The nurse gets on the phone.
MATHEW (V.O.)
I wanted any news any news would
ease my mind.
The nurse gets off the phone and shakes her head.
MATHEW (V.O.)
Ah, this was the sign I didn’t
want, I wanted a nod.
The nurse moves her lips as to say “that someone would come
to let you know when they know.”
MATHEW (V.O.)
But she said that one would come to
me when they knew something. My
mind still not at ease, and I was
ready to scream. I didn’t want to
close my eyes again for I didn’t
want to see those witches and
creatures again. I knew they would
return like a dog to its own vomit.
Mathew then asks the nurse for a aspirin.
MATHEW (V.O.)
I decided I would ask the nurse if
I could get something for the pain.
My head just throbbed as if one was
taking a hammer to my skull.
Mathew takes the aspirin from the nurse then walks back to a
chair.
or at least something to make me sleep even if it was in one
of these chairs that were stiff and uncomfortable. She was
able to get a white coat to agree to something for the pain;
I didn’t ask what it was I just took it.
MATHEW (V.O.)
A couple more hours went by…
We see a clock and it changes from time to a couple house
later.
MATHEW (V.O.) (CONT’D)
…and finally, a white coat had an
answer for me. They had passed away
from their gunshot wounds, and I
now stood alone.
INT. BANK – DAY
Two masked men enter the bank shooting at the ceiling. They
then point there guns to all the customers.
MATHEW (V.O.)
At the beginning of this mess I
felt it was my fault for what
happened.
Mathews father charges one of the robbers.
MATHEW (V.O.)
I should have helped my dad take
down the thief; the one who took
the money from the bank and my
parents.
One of the robbers shoots his gun.
MATHEW (V.O.)
This I should have been the one to
die this day.
Mathew runs to his fathers body.
MATHEW (V.O.)
I was the one who ran to my
father’s side…
Mathew is shot by one of the robbers. Falls and hits his
head.
MATHEW (V.O.)
…only to get hit by a flying
bullet, but I survived.
Mathews mother then runs to his body.
MATHEW (V.O.)
My mother came to my side only
to…
Mathews mother is then shot.
MATHEW (V.O.)
…meet her end with the same gun
that just shot my father and me.
Even so, I ask why did it just
graze me and hit them?
The robbers run out of the store with no money.
MATHEW (V.O.)
I don’t know what I’m supposed to
do now, they were everything. They
were my life. Now, what am I living
for?
People run out of the bank as police enter.
MATHEW (V.O.)
These stupid clichés came to mind.
I was done. I wanted to see them
for the last time, even if it was
there cold lifeless bodies.
The paramedic enter.
MATHEW (V.O.)
I wanted to hold them and kiss them
one last time, before…
INT. HOSPITAL MORGUE – DAY
Mathew is in between his parents dead bodies as they are the
slabs.
MATHEW (V.O.)
…before; they were put in the
ground. I closed my eyes to cry.
Images of demon, and witches come to his mind.
He opens his eyes, but he is tired.
INT. HOUSE – DAY
Mathew walks in the door and walks to the couch and closes
his eyes.
MATHEW (V.O.)
After 24hrs in the ER, trying to
sleep only to see the creatures and
witches. This time the creatures
grabbed at me only to catch me and
pull me down from the air. The
witches that were showing off their
pubic hair, joined in and their
flesh just melted away as the
creatures tore at me and ripped me
apart.
Mathew wakes up in a cold sweat.
MATHEW (V.O.)
What evil do I have in my mind,
what evil is in my heart?
He sits up and wipes his forehead.
MATHEW (V.O.)
Will this evil consume my last
sliver of goodness? You tell me.
Why are you so quiet? Do you not
have a tongue to tell me what’s on
your mind? Tell me what the hell is
going on with my mind!
INT. HOUSE – NIGHT
In the house it is dimly lit. Blood everywhere a couple
bodies can be see. We then see a close up of a tongue. Then
a woman’s body.
MATHEW (V.O.)
I guess you can’t since you lay
before me. Your tongue lay on the
ground next to your lifeless and
bloody body.
Mathew’s hands are bloody and there is a woman’s face in his
right hand.
MATHEW (V.O.)
I might have just gone insane.
Hahah I think I’m insane. No maybe
you’re the one insane.
Puts the woman’s face up to his.
MATHEW (V.O.)
Oh, you have such a very pretty
face. Haha in my hand. You are the
evil creature! You are the witch!
The Galadriel Stineman Story
The End of College Might Not be What Leads You to Your Life’s Goal
Not all college students follow the career they’ve chosen in college, sometimes the path gets a fork in the road, and you have a choice and both are good choices one just feel somehow more of better choice.
This is what Galadriel Stineman came across, and she chose the one she felt she needed to pursue, and that was of becoming an actor. “Yet she never became a child star like Union’s Josh Hutcherson, who made movies before he was 10, or Louisville’s Jennifer Lawrence, who was discovered at 14. Stineman participated in the drama club but never captured a starring role in a play at Newport Central Catholic High School. She had one line in “Annie.” She was a cheerleader, dancer and competitive horseback rider.” (Clark, Northern Kentucky Magazine)
Growing Up
She grew up in Northern Kentucky, were her dad was a tennis player and teacher and were her mom is a nurse. She states that she is, “creative, fun-loving, and a little weird.” But aren’t we all just a little weird in our own ways? She might seem younger when you think because she: “I was always top of my class and skipped a grade.” She was a cheerleader in high school and she did stick her feet into the drama class, but never pursued that as a career. She went to Northern Kentucky University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. If you are wondering how she got her name, “I’m named after the elf queen in Lord of the Rings. My parents liked the books.” She states when asked if she would change her name, “Nope. Not my first one anyway.”
Driving On a Different Road
What steered her toward acting well she has always performed from a young age, feeling she, “came programmed to perform.” She started to, “… recreationally acting when I was in kindergarten.” “She moved to Los Angeles after graduation to pursue the dream started while watching ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and ‘Annie.’ While her friends ‘could watch movies and get lost in the story, I would watch the actress and watch her work,’ she said from her Los Angeles home.” (Kiesewetter)
Six months after moving to L.A. she landed her first role in an indie movie titled “Junkyard Dog.” She had auditioned many times prior to her landing this role. What helped her land the role was that she said, “The director said I was the only actress that kept taking the role further and further when he would push me. He said even though I was new, he believed I had the talent to carry the part.” She says that, “The best part of acting is really nailing something. Breaking it down, trying things, exploring it, and then coming up with a product you want to share. It’s very rewarding and always new.” Even though it takes many auditions to land, your first or second role you might need motivation to keep on trying even when you become established in the business. She has steadily been moving forward and getting many roles on TV from “Ben 10,” “Austin & Ally,” “True Blood,” “Betrayed at 17,” “Operation Cupcake,” “Good Luck Charlie,” to “Shameless,” and her more current and recurring role as Cassidy Finch on “The Middle.” She plays the girlfriend of one of the major lead characters. However, with this, it helps her motivation, “This makes me want to never get lazy and keep pushing. I’m starting to see results of many late nights. Also, this is now what I do for a living. Every time a job ends, it’s like being laid off. I have to make sure I keep the jobs coming, or I am unemployed.”
Again, with “The Middle” one would want to know how the cast is, and if they would open their arms to someone new, just breaking into the business. “The cast on ‘The Middle’ is so great. Welcoming and ridiculously skilled. I think they are some of the best comedy performers out there today and that includes the ‘kids.’ They are so fun to work with and to watch.” She does a lot of kissing in the show. Is it weird or is it not? “Honestly, at this point, I’ve made out with a lot of costars. It just becomes another part of the job.” Can chemistry help with the comfortableness of this? “It helps if you at least like each other, or else the audience will feel a lack of chemistry. Luckily, I’ve only had to kiss nice guys!”
She is not a teenager, but she plays one on TV does this make her feel that she is a teenager again? “Playing a teenager can be challenging. It seems like forever ago I was telling one of my parents they ruined my life. But it’s nice. It’s a chance to go back and try some things differently or play the kind of teenager I admired.” She has recently completed, “The Party Is Over” and “Man-Up!” as her next projects as well as more episodes of “The Middle.”
Fandom
I came to know about her in watching “Ben 10: Alien Swarm” a Cartoon Network live-action movie. She started to be seen more just not those in the U.S., but internationally. Even though she no longer affiliated with Ben 10 projects, anymore she still has many that follow her career. With this day and age of technology, Facebook and Twitter, celebrities are able to keep in touch with fans and read what they have to say about their work first hand. Stineman does have Facebook and a Twitter. When asked if how it is to interact with her fans, “Facebook and twitter have become a blessing and a curse. It’s nice to be able to see the support I have and share things with my fans. ON the other hand, some people don’t understand boundaries and will do anything – or pretend to be anyone- to find out intimate details about you. I’ve had to be very careful and rethink the way I use the Internet.” She doesn’t have a blog nor does she interact like some celebrities via video’s and video chat, “Not my thing.”
Other Questions
I asked some other questions that you might find intriguing. I started; If you could have a superpower, what would it be? “I’d like to teleport. Visit home whenever I want and escape to the country.” What is your favorite holiday? ”Christmas. But I’m also a big fan of costumes and Halloween.” What’s the best present you’ve ever received? “That’s a tough one. Literally, I’d say my horse when I was younger. In a more poetic sense, the encouragement and unconditional support I received from my parents. They would have cheered me on in any field. What is your favorite season (time of year)? “I always change my mind. But lately, I’ve been saying Christmas. I love Christmas music and the smell of firewood. Not to mention the crisp air. Love it.”
Stineman has some Irish blood in her; she has red hair, and you may think that jobs are harder to get, but she says that it “can help or hurt. Being redheaded can help or hurt. You’ll rarely see two redheads on the same show. However, it seems to be popular right now, so that helps. And it makes you stand out. I also think it helps for comedy, because for some reason, red seems funny to many people.” Her biggest wish/dream is to,”…establish myself enough in my career that I wouldn’t have to worry about what my next job will be and could afford to move my family out here (California) and travel the world.” ###
